Burglary – Viroqua/LaFarge Area
Sometime between December 19-26, 2008, a residence on State Highway 82 between Viroqua and LaFarge was burglarized. After entry was made to a safe, numerous guns/items were stolen, including the following: Ruger .22 rifle with wood stock, Remington .22 rifle with synthetic stock, Remington 12-gauge shotgun (camo), Bussel range finder, Matthews bow in black carrying case, Browning 12-gauge shotgun, Sig .32 Special handgun.�
Burglary – Stoddard Area
Sometime between August 29-September 2, 2008, someone entered a house on County Road K in the Town of Bergen and stole multiple items. Stolen items include roofing nail guns, chainsaw, pressure washer, welder, socket set, paint guns, air compressor and the following guns/hunting equipment:
- .22 bolt action rifle
- Winchester .308 rifle
- Optima .50 muzzle loader
- Remington .3006 rifle
- Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun
- Matthews bow
- Gun cases
- Bow case
Burglary – Genoa Area
Sometime between June 29-July 22, 2008, a trailer home south of Genoa was burglarized. Taken in the burglary was a white gold ring with 5 diamonds across the top of it. Also taken was a dinner ring which had a stone on top that was cut in the shape of a diamond. The band was silver in color.
Motorcycle Theft – Westby Area
Sometime during the night of August 21, 2008 or early morning hours of August 22, 2008, a black Honda CBR 600RR motorcycle was stolen from a residential garage on Carlson Ridge Road near Westby.
Vandalism – Democratic Headquarters in Viroqua
Sometime possibly in the afternoon hours on July 15, 2008, the old Dahl Pharmacy building, which is now being used as the Democratic headquarters for Vernon County, was vandalized. The building is on South Main Street in Viroqua. The front windows to the building were spray-painted with words such as, “McCain is a Vet” along with two other phrases.�
Kayak & Canoe Theft – Kickapoo River Bridge #10
On June 25th 2008 a red Kayak was reported stolen from the bridge #10 area of the Kickapoo River. The Kayak is a 10 foot, red “Otter”, model “Old Town Guide”. Also missing is a green and white double paddle and red and orange life vest. The Kayak had black seats.
Burglary – Town of Liberty
On June 26th 2008 a burglary was reported to a residence and garage area, just west of the Liberty Store. Taken in the burglary were numerous items, inluding the following:
Computer system, flat screen TV, 3 rifles, generator, tools, knives, jewelry, saws, silver dollars, gold dollars, silver, fake dollars, mint sets, camera, DVD player, ammunition, lighters and also taken were lighters that were combination lighter and knife, stereo system and other misc. tools and small items.
Burglary – Storage Units near Hillsboro
Sometime between June 26-28, 2008, a burglary took place at the Countryside storage units on County Road HH near Hillsboro. About 7 storage units had their locks taken off and items were reported stolen. Some of the stolen items include orange or red extension/step ladders, coffee table and other miscellaneous household items. �
Burglary – Cal’s Place in Chaseburg
On June 8th 2008, a burglary occurred at Cal’s Place bar, in the village of Chaseburg. The suspects had to wade through high water to remove items from the bar. Items taken in the burglary included:
A neon Budweiser sign, shaped like a guitar, a Hot Rod Bikini Girl sign, two Blatz beer signs, a neon Pabst Blue Ribbon sign, Gray Goose Vodka and rolls of quarters.
Trailer Theft – City of Westby
On Novemer 15th 2007 a trailer was reported stolen from Majestic Storage Units at 200 Swiggum Road in the City of Westby. The trailer was a 2005 Pequea, 18 foot tandem axle trailer, with ramps. The trailer is black in color with the name Pequea in yellow letters, and white rims. The trailer takes a two an five sixteenth inch ball, which is larger for the size of the trailer. The trailer was valued at $3,500.
