Battery and Gas Theft in Genoa

Vernon County Crime Stoppers is asking for your help. On Friday May 21st 2010, the Sheriff’s Department was called to investigate the theft of 15 to 18 Marine Batterys and between 20 and 40 gallons of 2 cycle gasoline.

The Theft occurred in the late evening/early morning hours. When a vehicle drove into River Road Marine, located just off STH 56 east of Genoa. The suspect(s) removed the batterys from various boats that were being serviced and also removed gasoline from the various boat tanks.

Gas Theft at Snowflake Ski and Golf Club

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              On Monday May 3rd 2010 a gas theft was reported at the Snowflake Ski and Golf Club in Timber Coulee.

Sometime between late Sunday night and early Monday morning, two suspects broke off a lock and hose to a diesel tank, in attempt to steal the diesel fuel. The suspects then broke the filter off of a 150 gallon gasoline tank. As the fuel began to empty from the tank, the suspects attempted to catch or contain the gasoline in buckets. A large amount of the 150 gallons of gasoline poured onto the ground around the tank. Sheriff’s Department, Fire and Haz-Mat personel responded to the scene.
