Burglary – Cal’s Place in Chaseburg

On June 8th 2008, a burglary  occurred at Cal’s Place bar, in the village of Chaseburg. The suspects had to wade through high water to remove items from the bar. Items taken in the burglary included:

A neon Budweiser sign, shaped like a guitar, a Hot Rod Bikini Girl sign, two Blatz beer signs, a  neon Pabst Blue Ribbon sign, Gray Goose Vodka and rolls of quarters.

Trailer Theft – City of Westby

On Novemer 15th 2007 a trailer was reported stolen from Majestic Storage Units at 200 Swiggum Road in the City of Westby. The trailer was a 2005 Pequea, 18 foot tandem axle trailer, with ramps. The trailer is black in color with the name Pequea in yellow letters, and white rims. The trailer takes a two an five sixteenth inch ball, which is larger for the size of the trailer.  The trailer was valued at $3,500.

Trailer Theft – Township of Jefferson

On September 4th 2007, a trailer was reported stolen from a residence on CTH B. The trailer was a black aluminum trailer, 8′x10′, with a tilt bed, spare tire under the salt shield, and a light under the tilt bed. The trailer also had two custom black handles mounted near the tongue. The trailer was valued at $1,000. The trailer was taken sometime between January 2007 and May 2007.

Burglary – Big River Inn in Genoa

Sometime during the night of June7, 2008 or early morning hours of June 8, 2008, the Big River Inn in Genoa was burglarized.  Once inside, the suspect(s) overturned some alcohol bottles and caused extensive damage to the bar area.  The cash register, along with miscellaneous cash, was stolen.  The cash register was later recovered.

Damage to Viroqua Cemetery

Sometime between Sunday June 1st at 5:00 p.m. and Monday June 2nd at 6:30 a.m., damage was done to the Viroqua Cemetary. Over 20 Family Monuments were tipped over and another 20 Family Monuments were defaced and spray painted. The Governor Rusk Memorial was also spray painted. In addition to the Crime Stopper’s reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person or person’s repsonsible for this case. An additional reward of $500 has also been posted by a private citizen.

Burglary – Tippy Toe Inn, Chaseburg

On the early morning hours of May 29th 2008 a burglary occurred to the Tippy Toe Inn at Chaseburg. Forced entry was gained to the building. Once inside, the machines were tampered with and taken were cigarettes, poker chips and approximately $500 cash.

Gas Thefts in township of Webster

On May 28th or 29th 2008  padlocks were cut from a gate, gas barrel and breaker box on property along Duck Creek Road and 100 gallons of unleaded fuel was taken.  Another theft occurred in the same area and was reported on May 30th 2008. In the second theft, padlocks were also cut and 250 gallons of diesel fuel was taken.
